BUILDING SELF-CONFIDENCE

There seems to be one kind of self-confidence that is authentic and another which is a kind of performance in front of others.

They say that people who demonstrate any genuine confidence in themselves owe it to three fundamental facts, which are:

-a childhood surrounded by love in a solid and stable family environment
-believing yourself to be in possession of the truth
-being in the habit of winning

The posed self-confidence is shown by:

-not showing your emotions
-having practiced and learned poses and gestures
-mimicking models of behavior such as those of movie and television

The winning mind does not want to hide feelings or simulate gesture, but rather uses the feelings as a base of security, developing social and emotional capabilities, percieving, valuing and expressing specific emotions to achieve balance and social succes.

Emotions can be hidden but not managed. Emotions cannot be manipulated. They are a sensitive matter that is not directely controlled. What is directely controlled is the thought that this indeed is manipulable material. Aiming, then, the toughts in the direction and desired content is how feelings can be adjusted in the same direction. Emotions -powerful, irrational, positive and human, surrounded by the fine patina of thought- are authentic spears to penetrate the foreseen goal, and they are what confers robust confidence. Well then: is it always emotion which is surrounded by thought, or is it sometimes thought which is surrounded by emotion?

The issue is that, from this unbeatable tandem, the combination is usually decisive, and when you learn to live it, the individual and social goals unroll in the champion's wake life a soft carpet of the prettiest color imaginable.

The Americans John D. Mayer and Peter Salovey were the first to define emotional intelligence, a kind of ability of the brain to generate feelings that contribute to thinking, and regulate emotions by promoting emotional and intellectual development.

It is easy to confirm that when a concept or event is fixed by an emotional experience it is burned deeper into memory, which demonstrates the adaptative value of emotion. Everybody will remember, for example, what they were doing on the morning of the attack against the Twin Towers in New York. Self-confidence is one of the virtues of the champion surrounded by the package of certain positive emotional impacts. This means, for instance, uniting them in the visualization of important moments in your personal life; conquest, success, victory, here I am, dear friends.
